THAC0 is actually pretty simple, and you really don't need all those tables.
Roll 1d20 and add your various and sundry adjustments. Subtract this result from your THAC0. This is the AC you hit.
THAC0: 17
Roll: 16
Adj: +1 for STR
Total: 17
17 (THAC0) - 17 (Hit roll total) = 0
The character just hit at AC 0
THAC0: 17
Roll: 10
Adj: +1 for STR
Total: 11
17 (THAC0) - 11 (Hit roll total) = 6
The character just hit at AC 6
Roll 1d20 and add your various and sundry adjustments. Subtract this result from your THAC0. This is the AC you hit.
