So... I took the map I made here, and did this to it. The Seven Lands of Aethdurial...ᛇᚦᛞᚢᛁᚨᛚ...(Aethdurial) Seven Lands.pdf (223.11 KB) I have been running a long campaign in my Nihon setting in BECMI. Since I got Old-School Essentials, however, I have felt that the setting needed a small tweak. That lead to the creation this new setting. The seven lands are ► Nijan........ᚾᛁᛃᚨᚾ..... (Nee-jahn) ► Mrælgrad.....ᛗᚱᛇᛚᚷᚱᛞ....(Mraylgard) ► Jondas.......ᛃᛟᚾᛞᚨᛋ.....(Yondas) ► Silath.......ᛋᛁᛚᚨᚦ......(Seelath) ► Thejald......ᚦᛇᚻᚨᛚᛏ.....(Thayald) ► Binjian......ᛒᛁᚾᛃᛁᚨᚾ....(Binjian) ► Theregden....ᚦᛖᚱᛖᚷᛞᛖᚾ...(Therregden)
And YES... I need to load an updated map.

More Æþdürÿål Maps This map shows the ages of migration from Þîrïgdín (Teeraigdin) through the Seven Lands and finally ending in Mrælgård. This map shows the rough parallels between the regions of the seven lands and historical Earth.

The elder Futhark are about as "Fantastic" as a font can get. Tolkien even used it in LoTR, so I figured... Why not make use of it in Aethdurial? I have taken some liberties with the runes. Keep in mind they didn't have dictionaries or spelling bees when the FUTHARK were in use. They mostly spelled stuff the way it sounded.
So here is the Elder FUTHARK Rune set.
1. There would be lots of dialects. When I lived in Korea, my girlfriend lived in a "big city". She pronounced a lot of "U"s as "O"s. Her friend lived in the same town I did, and pronounced vowels per Dong Ah's dictionary. She once commented that "Pyontek people talk funny". So I figure people from different areas would pronounce things differently.
2. The FUTHARK don't have all the sounds we have. When in doubt, I punt and just try to get it close enough. Besides, it would be very "in game" for different characters to refer to the same town by two different names because they interpreted the runes differently.

Another version of the map. I figure out how to add a grid. >> 1 hex = 75 miles, making Aethdurial about the same size as Earth.

Here it is in pencil. This way I can take notes in pencil and actually see them...
