Economical and practical. There's nothing wrong with that!

Thank-you. Sadly I have no patience to paint miniatures anymore (I trace this back to my time painting F-22's - so freaking tedious). I actually went back to paper when I started running Battletech demos. I did not want any of my metal mini's walking off.

I always used the cardstock paper miniatures rather than painting the mechs. I'm really tempted to pick up the new Battletech starter box.

It is a better, more colorful product now. The boxed set comes with some nice plastic figures... and dreadful map boards. I see where they were trying to go and applaud the effort, but they just don't work correctly. I got the Battlemech manual. It's really solid, and even has a section on "things you've been doing wrong all this time" ... And there were a coupe I was doing wrong I do enjoy the heck out of Battletech. Be sure to look into Alpha Strike. It's official fast-play Battletech, and is actually a lot of fun.
