If you are lucky enough to own original copies of these books, you can figure out which printing they are at this web page. If you don't have printed copies, they are available at Drivethrupg. If you are not sure if you want to spend the money (it's like $10 for the OD&D Boxed set in pdf format), you can try before you buy at the Internet Archive.

In my opinion, reading or at least leafing through these books could be good for any ref, regardless of personal preferences. They represent a vision of the game that is not "untainted" but uncolored by what came later (other editions, business concerns, business model concerns, etc.) and are a worthy read even if you are not going to use or build directly on 0E.

I also look at the LBB's and ask how we went from that simple game to 4e... 5e is actually okay, but it takes a month of Sundays to make a character.
