SO, I dig me my D&D. I like Fantasy works (although very few Fantasy genre books do much for me – weird, I know). And, I love me my Anime!
My avatar is from Record of Lodoss War, and I also enjoyed: Gestalt Dragon Half Ruin Explorers Slayers The Heroic Legend of Arslan Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? That Time is Got Reincarnated as a Slime
My kid liked Seven Deadly Sins, but I thought it was just okay.
There has to be more out there...

This was part of another discussion that I split (as it branched into a discussion of the Lord of the Rings novels, which clearly deserves its own thread (or threads) I don't know a single one of the works you listed above, Ironnerd , I'm sorry to say. I have not gotten especially deep into the genre myself. Things I have enjoyed: LOTR (favorite novel) drafts and unfinished works by Tolkien The Last Unicorn by Peter Beagle And I can't think of anything else, although I'm sure I'm forgetting some... Oh, Elric (Moorcock) had some good features, though far from a favorite. Okay... an actual discussion is occurring. I am totally down with that. So, what I DO like about LoTR is that it is a story about friendship, loyalty, and doing the right thing (yay tho doing so it may sucketh greatly). Like I said, it is a pretty good tale of adventure, but (like Star Trek: the Motion Picture) the pacing was way the heck off. I am currently reading Red Nails, in Weird Tales magazine. It's Conan: the Barbarian, so it is a little dumb, but at least it moves along. I am also reading Ivanhoe, which is actually really good. Moves along well enough and tells a good story. But this is a thread about ANIME So... I have this guilty pleasure going on. Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen It's cute and funny and a little bawdy, but I think I can handle it. The have a really weird take on Medieval Fantasy on that side of the Pacific... Which makes it a lot of fun. Slayers (a comedy about rogue/mage and her friends)
Record of Lodoss War (romantic adventure) Ruin explorers, a story about a couple of rogues who cannot escape trouble... ever.

I also like the idea of a discussion! But I'll stop talking about LOTR on an anime thread.
Never seen Armor Shop, although it looks kind of cool, thanks for the mention.

We can start up a new thread for LotR discussions. The nice thing about armor shop is that the episodes are about 5 minutes long

So... Ruin Explorers.Ihrie and Fam are two young women in search of adventure and wealth. They are not the best at their chosen trade, but they are not even close to the worst. They are, however good friends (even if their adventure stains that friendship). This Four-episode, mid-1990's OVA (Original Video Animation) is a LOT of fun. It also lends itself quite well to D&D with a few adjustments. Ihrie is basically an Elf since she can use swords and magic. Her associate Fam would have to be a Rakasta (which is playable thanks to Dragon Magazine and the Gazetteers). It also has some great art, some classic supporting characters, and tells a pretty good story.
I liked it in the 1990's, and I liked it again when I watched it recently.

I've heard of theses Fantasy Anime series, and I'm interested in many of them. The only one I've watched is Record of the Lodoss War and it was great. I need to check some of these other ones out.

One of the solid points to recommend Lodoss War was there was never a Lodoss War Z, Lodoss War Burn-up, Lodoss War 2040, or Lodoss War GT.
